The Jamaica Dice Game has 2 black dice and 5 white dice.  Mix it up between your hands, and place it on the table.  Then add up the 2 black dice.  This is your Target.  Now to win the game, you must make that Target using the 5 white dice:

• You must use all five white dice (but only once each)
• You can use them in any order
• You can add, subtract, multiply or divide!

So, have you solved the puzzle in the image?  The black dice show a Target of 54 (50 + 4), and the white dice are 6, 6, 5, 3 and 6.  If you want you can stop reading now, and see if you can solve this Jamaica puzzle!

Your winning answer could be 

6 x (6+3) x (6 - 5) = 54

or, maybe

(6 / 3 x 6 x 5) - 6 = 54

When you play Jamaica with your friends, everyone simultaneously tries to find a formula to reach the Target.  First valid solution wins.  The winner must, of course, convince everyone of their answer!

If you can't make the target number, which happens occasionally, the winner is the person who comes the closest.  We estimate that about 90% of the time, there is an exact answer!

Brain Spice House Rule: we made this rule to increase the difficulty slightly.  With this optional rule, you can ONLY add or subtract a 1.  You CANNOT multiply or divide a 1.  This includes values of 1 that you make as part of your solution (eg. 6 minus 5).  We made this rule to stop 1's from being effectively discarded!
