Be the first to correctly place your cards on the Timeline to win the game!

Place games, sports, entertainment, and leisure activities in the correct order by working out what came first - and see how entertainment has evolved over time.

Play on its own, or combine this set with other Timeline sets to build one huge game of Timeline! It’s really interesting to see how different people, events, and discoveries overlap.

How to Play:

Each player starts with a hand of cards (date side down), and one card is placed in the centre face up to begin the timeline.

On your turn, choose at least one of your cards and place it where you think it belongs in the timeline.

Flip it over to check:
šŸ‘‰ If you’re correct, it stays in the timeline.
šŸ‘‰ If not, discard it and draw a new card.

As the timeline grows, it becomes more and more challenging to place your cards correctly!

The first player to correctly place all their cards wins.

Homeschooling with Games?Ā

Here’s what Timeline brings to the table…

āœ… History
āœ… Chronological thinking
āœ… Dates and Timelines
āœ… General knowledge
āœ… Comparing time periodsĀ Ā

šŸ’š Critical thinkingĀ
šŸ’š Cause & effect thinking
šŸ’š Decision making
šŸ’š Confidence
šŸ’š Discussion & conversation
šŸ’š Flexible thinking
šŸ’š Patience & turn taking
šŸ’š Learning from mistakes
šŸ’š Understanding instructions

And perhaps most importantly...

šŸ’š Helping them build a natural understanding of how the world fits together over time

Something we love about Timeline is how naturally it builds an understanding of history without needing to memorise dates. Players place events in order by working out what makes sense - and as the timeline grows, the thinking becomes deeper and more connected. It’s simple to learn, quick to play, and helps kids truly begin to see how events relate to each other.

It’s really interesting to see how different people, events, and discoveries overlap throughout history.

If you use games in your homeschooling program, this is a beautiful one to add - especially if you want something that helps history really make sense.

ā–Ŗļø Timeline pairs beautifully with The Story of the World - the Homeschool History Program.
