Health For Years 1-2- This book has been written to help younger students to become health literate and in doing so, support them to make wise decisions about their own health, safety and wellbeing and to encourage others to do the same.
Health For Years 3-4: Part 1-This book has been written to help students to become health literate. The activity sheets have been designed so that students will show their understanding of key concepts by: analysing visual images, drawing on their own experiences, interviewing their peers, representing their ideas visually, interpreting short scenarios and longer texts, describing, selecting, researching, imagining, playing minor games, prioritising, role-playing, ordering and assessing.
Health For Years 3-4: Part 2- This book should be ideally used in conjunction withHealth For Years 3-4: Part 1over a two year period. The benefits of being active, the importance of managing emotions and being respectful and showing empathy are some of the areas covered in this book.
Health For Years 5-6: Part 1- This book has been written to help students to become health literate. The activity sheets have been designed so that students will develop their understanding of important issues which affect children of this age, such as: puberty, drug taking, the changing nature of friendships, managing their emotions and how health information is presented to the public.
Health For Years 5-6: Part 2- This book should be ideally used in conjunction with Health For Years 5-6: Part 1 over a two year period. The importance of healthy eating, the benefits of physical activity, staying safe and appreciating diversity in Australia are all a focus.
